STI is a family owned and operated business that began close to twenty years ago with Jack Taylor's invention of the Stopper Pull Station Protector. Safety Technology now markets more than 40 unique products throughout the world to prevent false fire alarms and the theft and vandalism of the things that protect us all such as smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
With offices in Waterford, Michigan and Worcestershire, England, the STI team has worked hard to continue the work that Jack Taylor started. Our first product came directly at the request of a customer, Garnett Hegeman: a high school principal in Detroit, Michigan who had a problem with false fire alarms. Most new products throughout the years are a direct result of these types of requests. If you have a false fire alarm, theft, vandalism or other problem, we invite you to contact us with the challenge of solving it.
This unique and patented device has been helping stop false fire alarms around the world for more than 25 years, without restricting legitimate alarms. Ideal for schools, hospitals, nursing homes, stores, hotels and public buildings of almost every kind.
Stopper II consists of a clear, tamperproof, super tough polycarbonate shield and frame that fits over manual pull stations. When lifted to gain access to the actual alarm, it sounds a piercing 95 dB or 105 dB warning horn. Immediate attention is drawn to the area and a prankster will either run or be caught. The cover is connected to the frame by a cable. When the cover is lifted, it hangs off of the frame and the horn will sound until the cover is snapped back onto the frame (or for the life of the battery).
